Who can supply the replacement piston? Recommended supplier? Can a homemade one be built fairly simply? I understand I need a spring compressor to repair it. Can a semi-talented shade tree gunsmith fix it? It is in otherwise excellent condition.ģ. Is my diagonsis correct? I've had this gun since it was new. I've tentatively ID'd the cause as the piston seal failing. Symptoms-Cocks normally, sound is normal, trigger pull is normal, but pellet doesn't go anyplace! Don't hear any rattling sounds when the 124 is shaken.Ģ. Need someone more experienced to help me. I'm very familiar with firearms and their repair, however I've never repaired a spring air rifle. Quality is good through out & make full power easily, the original piston seal is prone to disintegrating & the barrel axis pin can wear which is not surprising on 30 year old rifles. They are easy enough to strip with care needed on the safety catch tabs & spring compressor ideally used if the super long standard spring is fitted.A good quality shorter stiff spring & new seal is a good retro fit.My 1980 vintage FWB 124 sporter died last week.

The MK111 same action again but had a plastic muzzle break fitted. The MK11 same as MK1 but with alloy trigger,ASI imported models stamped MK11 "series MK11" on the left hand side of the brech block. Some later models had a different shape checkering & new butt pad, still offered with palm swell but less pronounced.

The MK1 124 & 127 Deluxe denotes the stock & came with a cheek piece butt pad & pistol grip cap both with white spacer.Checkering on the pistol grip with a notable palm swell including sling swivels as standard. Both cals were available in left hand option.Open sights were fitted as standard across the range the rear sight slightly different between cals with a no 5 & 4 being the difference. The MK1 most obvious feature is the plastic trigger & also its weak spot but many still survive today in working order.Other owners changed to the MK11 trigger which is alloy so identification is a bit harder at a glance. The Sport was manufactured between 1973 to 1989 the models listed as MK1,11 & 111.All comprising of the same action with the serial number on the left hand side of the cylinder along with cal stamp.US & Canadian models are also stamped on the right hand side but not sure if that is just the Beeman range. Also model 121 which had standard stock no butt pad & no sling swivels.
